The Global Electric Transport team of engineers and automotive experts have designed our sophisticated, modular and completely homogenous system which delivers TYPE TWO, THREE PHASE, 22KW, 32A A/C power via the GET Electric charging units. The GET Electric system is supported by an Amazon, cloud-based software in which we remotely manage, monitor and diagnose every single GET Electric system in Australia. The units are pay-per use, so there is no need to have separate monitoring or metres for each charging unit and since the user doesn’t need to own the unit, one charger can support multiple parking spaces and the owner of the unit can build in a small margin to pay for the cost of the unit. We calculate the energy used by each charger, multiply it out by the price of energy at the site and pay the bill holder for the energy our chargers have used, plus any margin.
As well as this, our system has automatic load management, which monitors the energy demand of the building against the buildings ability to supply the energy and, if needed, can throttle back the chargers to protect the buildings electrical infrastructure and substations when energy demand is high. This is a massively important issue as the energy demand of these EVs is enormous and very few buildings have the ability to deliver enough energy to support the demands of the building, as well as multiple EV’s charging, all at the same time - especially in peak times. Automatic load management prevents catastrophic failures and avoids the need for investing and installing greater energy supplies.
The way in which a user operates a charger is through the GET Electric app, which they add a credit card to, in the same way an Uber account works, and from there on they simply plug their car in, scan the QR code of the screen of the charger and off they go. As soon as the charging secession is completed, they are charged via their selected payment method. There is also the option to use a GET Electric RFID tag, so as soon as they plug their car in, they simply swipe the tag and the same operation begins.
Our installation process begins with a site inspection, where we look at the infrastructure of the building, location of the BUSBAR and other equipment relevant to our installation, as well as the proposed location of the chargers to work out the cost of installation and other minor, but important details.
